Scar Revision Candidates

Candidates for scar revision are individuals who are unhappy with the appearance of a scar. Candidates can typically be of any age and must be physically healthy, without acne or skin diseases in the treatment area. All candidates must be non-smokers.

The Scar Revision Procedure

When the procedure begins, medications are infiltrated into the area to minimize any discomfort.  An incision will be created and the appropriate revision will take place. Most commonly, absorbable sutures will be used.

Scar Revision Recovery

After a scar revision you may experience some swelling, bruising and discomfort that will improve throughout the following days. The new scar will progressively improve overtime until the final results become apparent after several  months.
