The IPL Laser Treatment
Your treatment will begin with a technician giving you numbing gel to apply to the area beforehand. Your specialist will then begin applying gel onto your cleansed treatment area. You will be given protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the lasers. The device will then be gently pressed against your skin, targeting your predetermined areas. IPL sessions last 30 minutes for a small session and 60 minutes for a larger laser session.
IPL Laser Recovery
After IPL treatment you may feel sunburn-like symptoms for 4-6 hours. Cold therapy can help to diminish any discomfort. You may experience mild bruising for a few days. Areas of darker pigmentation may turn darker before peeling off within a few weeks. It is important to avoid irritating the skin with makeup, skincare products, and other irritants for up to a week after treatment. Most patients receive between three and seven IPL laser sessions spaced two to four weeks apart to achieve their desired results. Your results may take weeks for you to notice.
