What is Renuva?
Renuva is an injectable treatment and bio-compatible allograft adipose matrix designed to address age-related volume loss (or age-related fat loss).
The Renuva extracellular matrix consists of the same collagen, growth factors, and proteins as the fat or adipose tissue that is naturally in your body. Once injected (and unlike hyaluronic acid fillers), the formula is replaced with your body’s own fat cells and blood vessels over the following months. It can be injected into almost any area where the fat naturally exists in the body.
Renuva is typically used in areas like the face, earlobes, neck, hands, and décolletage. It can also be beneficial when addressing hip dips or to smooth cellulite dimples.

Who is a Good Candidate?
Anyone looking to address volume loss in their face, neck, hands, is typically an ideal candidate for Renuva treatment, but there are some criteria we look for. You should also be in generally good health, have realistic expectations, be a nonsmoker, and not be breastfeeding or pregnant. It may also be a good treatment for those looking for a nonsurgical alternative to autologous fat transfer, autologous fat grafting, and facial fat transfer. It’s also great for those who want to avoid the downtime required with more invasive procedures.
Renuva is not for anyone looking to address volume loss in the lips or breast tissue. It should also never be injected into the muscle.
About the Treatment
Renuva treatment could not be simpler. To start, we’ll numb the area with our cannula anesthetic to ensure your comfort. From there, your provider will use a very fine needle to inject the Renuva formula into the appropriate treatment area. Most patients receive between 1.5cc and 3cc per treatment session and need multiple treatment sessions to achieve their optimal results.
Once your injections are complete, you can go back to your normal routine immediately.

There are a variety of areas where Renuva can be injected, including the face, earlobes, neck, hands, and décolletage. More specifically, the formula can be injected into the temples, cheeks, nasolabial folds, and more.
What to Expect After Treatment
After your Renuva treatment, you will likely have some swelling, redness, mild discomfort, and bruising at the injection site, but these side effects typically only last a few days (at most). During this time, you will want to avoid strenuous activities and heavy lifting. You’ll also need to avoid touching or putting pressure on the treatment area.
The results of Renuva typically take several weeks to months to appear as your natural fat cells replace the Renuva formula. But once your fat cells and the associated blood vessels are in place, you can expect the results to last for up to 10 years (like most human fat cells)
