What is Juvéderm?

Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid-based clear gel dermal filler (HA dermal filler) that is injected into the skin to address volume loss and lines and wrinkles (including smile lines, frown lines, crow’s feet, nasolabial folds, and more) and to help contour and define the face. More specifically, Juvéderm consists of a full line of dermal fillers, with each filler in the Juvéderm collection of fillers performing a different task to help improve your overall appearance and produce smooth, natural-looking, long-lasting results.

How does it work?

The hyaluronic acid in the formula works similarly to the same substance in your skin. It attracts and binds moisture, giving the skin a fuller, plumper, and more youthful appearance. Some of the Juvéderm formulas also use Vycross Technology, which cross-links the hyaluronic acid molecules to make a smoother, gel-like formula.

The Juvéderm products we offer include the following:

Who is a Good Candidate?

Almost all men and women struggling with volume loss are good candidates for Juvéderm filler injections. That said, there are some criteria we look for in patients seeking Juvéderm treatment. We recommend you be in good overall health, have realistic expectations of treatment, be nonsmokers, and be willing to stick to a quality skincare regimen.

About the Treatment

Juvéderm treatment could not be any more straightforward. One of our providers will begin by cleansing the treatment area. From there, they will prepare the injections and use a thin needle to inject the appropriate formula into the mid to deep dermis of the skin. While some patients feel some mild discomfort, most tolerate it very well.

How many injections you need will depend on the results you’re looking for and the treatment area. Treatment can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour.

Treatment Areas

Juvéderm can be used in a variety of treatment areas, including the lips, under the eyes, cheeks, around the mouth. Where your injections are placed will depend on the results you’re looking for and where your areas of concern are.

What to Expect After Treatment

After your Juvéderm treatment, you may experience some mild side effects like redness, swelling, and tenderness. These effects will subside within a few hours to a few days. During this time, you will also want to avoid touching or putting pressure on the treatment area, avoid strenuous activities, and stay away from excess sun exposure and excess heat.

In terms of results, you will see some initial results immediately, but the full improvements usually take about two weeks to be entirely noticeable.
