Eyelid Surgery(Blepharoplasty)

The eyelids are also often the first place to show signs of aging.  Fatty deposits may develop around the eyelids causing puffiness.  As fat, muscle and bone volume decreases with age, the tissue surrounding the eye undergoes deflation causing droopiness of the eyebrows, excessive skin on the upper eyelid , and fat pads under the eyes.   Eyelid surgery can correct these problems resulting in a more rested and youthful appearance.  This procedure is often performed in conjunction with a face or brow lift.

Anesthesia

Monitored anesthesia with intravenous sedation and local anesthesia is administered by the anesthetist. Some upper lid surgeries can be performed under local anesthesia.

Recovery

In the post-operative period following eyelid surgery, there is usually little or no pain. The newer techniques we offer result in less bruising, less swelling, and a faster recovery.
