What is alloClae™?

alloClae™ is a structural adipose tissue allograft, which means it is human fat tissue from a screened donor that has been carefully processed for aesthetic use. Unlike a hyaluronic acid or collagen stimulating filler, alloClae™ is made from the same type of tissue it is replacing: fat. That is what allows it to look and feel so natural once placed.

What makes alloClae™ distinct is how it is processed. Rather than being fully broken down into a matrix or a gel, the tissue retains the three-dimensional honeycomb architecture of its fat cells along with the surrounding extracellular matrix, including naturally occurring collagens, elastins, and proteins. That intact structure is what provides immediate volume, cushioning, and support at the treatment site, along with a scaffold your body can integrate with over time.

The processing also removes what you do not want. alloClae™ is terminally sterilized, its free oil content is reduced to minimize the risk of oil cysts, and its genetic material is minimized to reduce the likelihood of an immune response. It does not contain viable cells and has no systemic effect in the body.

Volume Without Harvesting Your Own Fat

Traditional fat grafting is an excellent procedure, but it requires two steps: first, liposuction to harvest fat from a donor area, then purification and reinjection. That means anesthesia, incisions, a donor site to recover from, and enough available body fat to make the transfer worthwhile.

alloClae™ removes the harvesting step entirely. Because the tissue is donor-derived and ready to use, treatment can often be performed in office as a targeted injection procedure. There is no donor site, no liposuction recovery, and no requirement that you carry excess fat somewhere else on your body. For slim, athletic patients who have been told they are not good candidates for fat transfer, this is a meaningful change.

alloClae™ Treatment Areas

alloClae™ is designed for localized placement in areas where fat tissue naturally exists. Our providers most often use it for the following concerns.

Hip Dips

Hip dips are the natural inward curves between the hip bone and the upper thigh. They are a skeletal and anatomical trait rather than a weight issue, which is why they rarely respond to diet or exercise. alloClae™ can be placed in a fanning pattern to soften that indentation and create a smoother, more continuous curve from the waist through the hip. This is one of the most requested hip dip treatment options we offer for patients who want correction without surgery.

Breast Asymmetry

Nearly everyone has some degree of breast asymmetry, but when the difference is noticeable in clothing or swimwear, it can be frustrating. alloClae™ allows for precise, incremental volume placement on the smaller side to improve balance, either as a standalone treatment or as a refinement after breast augmentation.

Implant Rippling and Edge Visibility

Patients with thin soft tissue coverage over a breast implant may notice rippling, wrinkling, or a visible implant edge. Placing alloClae™ in the tissue layer above the implant adds cushioning and thickness that can help camouflage these irregularities. This can be an appealing option for patients who would prefer not to move directly to breast implant exchange or revision surgery.

Cleavage and Décolletage Contouring

The upper chest is a common area of soft tissue thinning with age, sun exposure, and weight fluctuation. alloClae™ can add gentle fullness to the medial breast and cleavage area, softening a hollow or bony appearance in a way that reads as natural rather than augmented.

Contour Irregularities After Liposuction

Even with expert technique, liposuction can occasionally leave a small depression, step off, or uneven area, particularly in patients treated elsewhere. alloClae™ is well suited to filling these focal defects because it can be placed in small, controlled amounts precisely where volume is missing.

Other localized indentations, divots, and soft tissue deficits may also be appropriate for treatment. Your provider will confirm during your consultation whether alloClae™ is the right tool for your specific concern.

Benefits of alloClae™

  • Truly targeted volume: alloClae™ is injected exactly where volume is needed, in the amount needed. That precision makes it especially useful for small, stubborn irregularities that surgery is too blunt an instrument to address.
  • A natural look and feel: Because alloClae™ is adipose tissue with its native structure preserved, it integrates into the surrounding soft tissue rather than sitting on top of it. There is no implant edge to feel and no firmness typical of some synthetic products.
  • No donor site and no fat requirement: You do not need to have excess fat available, and you do not have to recover from a liposuction site.
  • Minimal downtime: Most patients return to normal daily activity quickly, with temporary swelling and bruising at the treatment site rather than a surgical recovery.
  • Fully customizable: Volume can be built gradually across sessions, which gives you and your provider control over the final result instead of committing to a single fixed outcome.
  • A conservative first step: For many patients, alloClae™ is a way to test a change in shape before deciding whether to pursue a surgical option.

Ideal Candidates for alloClae™

alloClae™ may be a strong fit if you:

  • Are lean or athletic and do not have enough body fat for traditional fat transfer
  • Prefer to avoid an implant, general anesthesia, or a surgical recovery
  • Have a specific depression, divot, or asymmetry rather than a global need for volume
  • Are unhappy with rippling or thin coverage over a breast implant
  • Have realistic expectations about the degree of change a soft tissue graft can create
  • Are in good general health and at a stable weight

alloClae™ is not appropriate for everyone. It should not be used in patients with severe allergen sensitivities, a history of anaphylaxis, or an active infection. Patients hoping for a substantial increase in size may be better served by a surgical procedure, and our surgeons will tell you honestly if that is the case. Because alloClae™ is donated human tissue rather than a synthetic product, we encourage patients to ask questions about how it is sourced and processed, and we welcome that conversation.

Treatment, Recovery, and Results

Your Consultation

Every alloClae™ treatment at our Delray Beach practice begins with an in-person evaluation. Your provider will examine the area, discuss your goals, review your medical history, and take measurements and photographs. Together you will determine how much volume is appropriate, whether one session or a staged approach makes more sense, and whether alloClae™ or another option best matches what you are trying to accomplish.

The Treatment

alloClae™ treatment is typically performed as an in-office procedure. The area is cleansed and numbed with local anesthetic, and the tissue is introduced through small entry points using a blunt cannula. Your provider layers it in small deposits across the treatment zone, which allows for even distribution and a smooth contour. Treatment time depends on the area and the volume being placed, and many appointments are completed in under an hour.

Recovery

Expect some swelling, bruising, tenderness, and firmness at the treatment site. Most patients describe the discomfort as mild and manageable. You will be given specific aftercare instructions, which commonly include avoiding direct or prolonged pressure on the treated area, holding off on strenuous exercise for a short period, and wearing a compression garment if your provider recommends one. Many patients return to desk work and light daily activity within a day or two, though recovery timelines vary from person to person.

Results

You will see immediate volume, because the graft provides bulk at the moment it is placed. That initial appearance will be exaggerated by swelling. As swelling resolves over the following weeks and your body integrates the graft, the contour settles into its final shape. Your provider will explain what to expect at each stage and when to return for follow-up.

As with any soft tissue graft, some degree of volume change over time is normal, and additional treatment may be recommended to reach or maintain your desired result. Longevity depends on the treatment area, the volume placed, your anatomy, and your own healing response.

Individual experiences, recovery, and results vary. Nothing on this page should be interpreted as a guarantee of a specific outcome. As with any procedure of this type, complications are possible, including nodule or cyst formation, pain, infection, bleeding or hematoma, allergic or immune response, and skin discoloration at the treatment site. Your provider will review the full risks and benefits with you during your consultation.

FAQ

FAQ

What is alloClae™ made from?

alloClae™ is made from human adipose (fat) tissue from screened donors. It is processed to preserve the natural structure of the fat and its extracellular matrix while removing free oil, reducing genetic material, and terminally sterilizing the tissue. It does not contain viable cells and does not act through the metabolic activity of living cells.

Where on the body can alloClae™ be used?

alloClae™ is placed beneath the skin in areas where fat tissue naturally exists. Common treatment areas include hip dips, the breasts and cleavage, tissue over a breast implant, and localized irregularities left behind after liposuction. Your provider will confirm whether your area of concern is appropriate.

How is alloClae™ different from traditional fat transfer?

Traditional fat transfer uses your own fat, harvested through liposuction during a surgical procedure. alloClae™ uses processed donor tissue that is ready to use, so there is no harvesting, no donor site, and no requirement that you have excess fat available. Fat transfer is generally better suited to larger volume changes, while alloClae™ excels at targeted, precise volume in smaller areas.

How is alloClae™ different from Renuva?

Both are derived from donated adipose tissue, but they work differently. Renuva is an adipose matrix that acts primarily as a scaffold your body populates with its own cells over time. alloClae™ retains the intact honeycomb structure of the fat tissue itself, which provides immediate volume and cushioning at placement in addition to serving as a scaffold. Your provider will explain which is better matched to your goals.

Is alloClae™ a filler?

It is often described as a structural adipose filler, but it is not a synthetic or hyaluronic acid filler. It is human tissue, which is why it behaves more like a graft than like a conventional injectable.

How much downtime should I plan for?

Most patients experience swelling, bruising, and tenderness for several days to a couple of weeks. Many return to light daily activity within a day or two and to exercise after their provider clears them. Downtime varies based on the area treated and the volume placed.

How long do alloClae™ results last?

alloClae™ is intended to provide lasting volume rather than a temporary effect, and the preserved extracellular matrix is designed to support that. That said, some volume change over time is normal with any soft tissue graft, and results differ from patient to patient. Some patients choose additional treatment to build or maintain their result.

Can alloClae™ be combined with other treatments?

Often, yes. alloClae™ can complement liposuction, breast procedures, and other body contouring treatments. Your provider will build a plan and a sequence that makes sense for your goals.
